What is a pre-wash scalp oil?

A pre-wash scalp oil is applied to dry scalp before shampooing. Its purpose is to help soften buildup, cushion the skin, and support a more comfortable, effective cleanse. With Raíz & Rayo, you massage the oil into the scalp, let it sit, then shampoo thoroughly so your roots feel cleaner, lighter, and more balanced.

Will it make my hair greasy?

Raíz & Rayo formulas are designed to feel lightweight and refreashed, not heavy. Because you apply before washing and then shampoo thoroughly—starting at the scalp—the goal is a breathable scalp and refreshed roots, not residue. If your hair feels coated, use less product, focus at the scalp (not lengths), and make sure to rinse and shampoo carefully.

Is it safe for color-treated hair or extensions?

Our pre-wash scalp oils are designed with gentle, organic oils and are used before shampoo, not left on hair long-term. Many clients with color-treated hair and extensions choose scalp oils to support comfort and cleanliness at the root area. That said, always follow your colorist’s or extension specialist’s guidance, and avoid aggressive rubbing on extension bonds or tapes.

How often should I use it?
